Modular Construction Q/A
What is Modular Building Construction?
Modular construction is the process of constructing a building on off-site under controlled factory conditions. A modular building is constructed in several pieces, called modules. Modules are transported on-site, lifted into place by crane, and joined together into a single, secure building.
Are Modular Buildings Lower Quality than Buildings Constructed On-Site?
Modular construction can meet rigorous quality standards. Each module is built under controlled conditions and is not subject to the rigors and unknowns of exposing your building materials to a long outdoor construction process. The modules must also be built to withstand the forces of travel, craning, and assembly. These modules assemble into a single unit that meet or exceed the same codes as a site-built construction project. Each module can be checked for quality control before leaving the facility.
Are Modular Buildings "Generic?"
This is another myth about modular construction. There is no need for modular buildings to look as if they were squeezed from the same mold. By working with a skilled modular construction design service like Glenco, Inc. you can customize the details of your project such as the size, floor plan, number of rooms, finishing details, roof, and so much more.
